You’ve done your school shopping for supplies & clothes. Soon you will be writing checks for school pictures & field trips. It is a lot...  we know. But we’d also like to ask you to support our PTA fundraisers. Afton Lakeland PTA raises $45,000 - $50,000 every year to further enhance our children’s educational experience. On average, if each family could contribute $135 during the school year, we would easily reach our goal.
 
Fundraising is not a one-size-fits-all endeavor. The PTA has six major fundraisers throughout the school year:
1. Chip Shoppe
2. Art to Remember Sale
3. Scholastic Book Fairs
4. Pizza Dinner (not really a fundraiser -- we sell pizza in conjunction with Book Fairs)
5. Give to the Max (online fundraiser - we are not actively pushing this one anymore, but you are welcome to donate!)
6. School Carnival, Raffle & Silent Auction (these are our biggest fundraisers)
 
We are always trying to find ways to earn money for our great school.  We also push some of the retailer fundraisers.  We earn a significant amount of money from these.  Don't be bashful to ask friends and relatives to help!
1. Target - Take Charge of Education (1 percent of purchases)
2. Amazon Smile (1/2 percent of purchases)
3. Box Tops for Education - General Mills
4. Milk Moola, Donut$ to Dough - Kwik Trip
5. Labels for Education - Campbells  (this one is getting phased out)
6. Aluminum can recycling
7. Others
 
You can choose to participate in any or all of these opportunities, depending on your family’s ability. You can also make a cash donation; the Give to the Max Day in November is a very successful online fundraiser that we participated in for the first time two years ago. If your family prefers to make a cash donation, we recommend that you mark your calendars for November 13. Not only does 100% of your donation benefit the school, but we can also win $1,000 - $2,000 in prize money for having a high percentage of participants.
